Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DailyNest ("DailyNest", "we", "us") collects, uses, shares, protects, retains, exports, and deletes information when you use our website, applications, and related services.

1. Information We Collect

• Account and profile data: email address, authentication records, optional display name, role, profile and business information you provide.
• Financial organization data: expenses, income, receipts, amounts, dates, categories, notes, payment-method labels, bills, mileage, jobs, inventory, goals, and related records you choose to store.
• Files and images: receipt photos, PDFs, documents, and other files you upload.
• Location data: when you intentionally use a location-dependent feature, such as active job or mileage tracking, we may process the location needed to provide that feature. We do not use location for advertising.
• Device authentication: biometric verification, when enabled, is performed by the operating system. DailyNest does not receive or store your fingerprint or facial template; we receive only the authentication result needed to unlock the app.
• CPA and team data: professional or firm information, invitations, relationships, permissions, and collaboration records you choose to create.
• Technical and usage data: device/browser information, IP address, timestamps, security logs, errors, and in-app actions needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
• Billing data: subscription status, plan, transaction references, and billing metadata. Full payment-card details are handled by the applicable payment processor or app store and are not stored by DailyNest.

2. Why We Use Information

• Provide, personalize, maintain, and secure DailyNest.
• Store and organize receipts, expenses, reports, inventory, jobs, and other records you create.
• Provide optional AI-assisted receipt processing and categorization.
• Provide optional mileage, location, CPA, collaboration, export, and notification features you request.
• Manage subscriptions, entitlements, fraud prevention, support, and billing records.
• Diagnose errors, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and improve reliability.

3. AI Processing

When AI receipt processing is enabled, information needed for the requested analysis may be sent to an AI service provider acting on our behalf. We minimize unnecessary personal data and use the information to provide the requested feature, not to sell personal data or target advertising. Where the app provides an AI-processing control, turning it off prevents new optional receipt-processing requests from being sent to the AI provider.

4. Sharing and Service Providers

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to infrastructure, authentication, storage, email, AI, security, analytics necessary for app operation, payment, and app-store providers that help us operate DailyNest; to a CPA, team member, or organization you intentionally authorize; to professional advisers; or to authorities when legally required. Service providers may process data only for permitted purposes and are expected to protect it appropriately.

5. Payments and App Stores

Web payments may be processed by our web payment provider. Native mobile purchases may be processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Those providers process payment information under their own privacy terms. DailyNest receives transaction, subscription, and entitlement information needed to provide paid features and support.

6. Security

We use safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data, including encrypted transport, access controls, authentication, private storage controls, least-privilege database policies, security logging, and incident-response practices. No system can guarantee absolute security, so we continually review safeguards and limit access to what is needed.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and user-created data while needed to provide the Service, meet your settings and subscription choices, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and satisfy legal obligations. Different records may have different retention periods. When information is no longer required, we delete it or de-identify it in accordance with our operational and legal requirements.

8. Account and Data Deletion

You can initiate permanent deletion of your DailyNest account from Settings → Delete my account. We also provide an external deletion-request path at joindailynest.com/delete-account. Account deletion is available regardless of where you live.

Deletion is intended to remove the account and associated personal data that DailyNest is not legally required to retain, including user-created records and uploaded files. If a record must be retained for legal, security, fraud-prevention, tax, or financial-audit reasons, we limit retention to the required purpose and period and remove or minimize direct account linkage where appropriate.

Deleting your DailyNest account is separate from canceling a subscription. If Apple or Google manages an active subscription, cancel that subscription in the applicable store to stop future store-managed billing.

9. Your Choices and Rights

• Access and portability: request or export a copy of eligible account data.
• Correction: update inaccurate profile or user-created information.
• Deletion: request permanent account and associated-data deletion, subject to required retention.
• Optional features: disable optional AI processing, biometrics, notifications, or permission-based features where controls are provided.
• Permission controls: mobile operating systems let you review or revoke permissions such as camera or location access.

Privacy requests: privacy@joindailynest.com. We verify requests where appropriate and respond within the period required by applicable law.

10. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies or similar storage needed for authentication, security, preferences, and core service operation. If optional analytics or other non-essential tracking is added, DailyNest will provide disclosures and consent controls where required. DailyNest does not use personal data for third-party targeted advertising unless we first update this policy and obtain any consent required by law or platform policy.

11. Children

DailyNest is not directed to children under 18 and does not knowingly offer child-directed accounts. If we learn that personal information was collected from a child contrary to applicable requirements, we will take appropriate action.

12. International Transfers

DailyNest and its service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where providers operate. Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an appropriate transfer mechanism.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as DailyNest, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy with a new effective date and provide additional notice for material changes where required.
